Vibrations
and radiations are ultimately indispensable in these days. In our hurry bury
real life situations; we need some entertainment for our relaxation. All kind
of peoples watch movies now-a-days. So as far as the entertainment is
concerned, the movie making is absolutely essential.
Celluloid
movies have been watched by us for entertainment normally. In the digital era,
we can see how the absolute digital movie making is going to be. The digital
movie making is cost wise and technical wise cheaper than the celluloid movie
making. More over, it is the current trend of the third wave.
So I decide
to take research in “Absolute Digital Movie Making”.
There are
three parts of movie making system have to be digitalized.
Ø Sound
system
Ø Visual
system
Ø Editing
system
The third one already
had been digitalized by using various soft wares. So we have to do the first
two parts have to be digitalized.
v Sound system:
§ Dubbing
(separate work other than take the film)
§ Song
recording (including mixing, re-mixing etc)
§ Re-recording
(live sound clearance)
§ Extra
sound effects (Doubly Digital Pro logic5.1, DTS, Doubly stereo, Sony Dynamic
Surround System)
v Visual System:
§ Digital
Color Correction (increasing the quality of pixels, which provide the actual
resolution in the screen)
§ Animation
and Morphing and Graphics
v Editing System:
§ Screenplay
editing
§ Audio
editing (cut, copy and pasting the movie and sound by using the soft wares)
The third
one had already been digitalized, which I have mentioned already.
In this research/project
is going to deal with the first two parts of digitalization. Even though, the
third part had been digitalized, we have to enhance and enrich the methods of
editing the film by using advanced soft wares.
v Quality
and clarity of the film/movie will be reducing in the long run.
§ The
film/celluloid will be worn out after hundredth day.
§ Soundtrack
will also be damaged in the long run.
v Sound
system especially stereo/mono will not be in clear quality after 150 days or
after 600 shows.
v We
have to take or prepare more prints or copies for various theatres from
different places/cities.
v We
should change the reels once in a while.
§ It
depends upon the film and the projector, which is used to play the movie in the
theatre.
§ Normally,
the reels are changed once in 45 minutes for 16mm, 35mm and 70mm films.
v The
cost of converting the digital animations to celluloid/film is very high.
§ In
these days, we are seeing many animations in the films. The conversion of the
animation/morphing/graphics from digital (done by computers) to celluloid is
high.
v Editing
is also difficult and cost high compare than digital editing.
§ In
our Tamil movies, our operator himself cut the songs/fights as his wish. That
is simple. But the cutting, which means the actual editing, is difficult in the
celluloid movie making.
§ In
the digital movie making, we can edit the movies by using various editing soft
wares (Adobe Premiere 6.0, Dub It 2.0, etc).
v Crystal
clear film/movie quality, which will not reduce in the long run.
§ The
crystal clearness quality is depending upon the projector used to show the
movie and the digital camera, which is used to shoot the film/movie.
§ With
respect to the pixel rate or the resolution the actual digital color will be
corrected. This is known as digital color correction.
v Sound
systems will be effectively upgraded.
§ Dolby
Digital / Dolby Stereo, Digital Pro Logic and DTS qualities as like as the live
sound.
v No
need to take more prints or copies of the movie/film.
§ In
the case of celluloid movie making, we take more prints for releasing various
theatres where as in the case of digital theatre we take more prints with fewer
amounts. In the complex, which has five or more theatres, they themselves take
copy of the hard disk.
v No
need to change the reels once in a while because the machine or the projector
is fully automatic.
v Digital
animations/graphics and editing can be done simply compare the celluloid movie
making ease.
To overcome the all drawbacks, which we saw
in the celluloid movie making, we should go for the Absolute Digital Movie Making.
Future of Digital Movie:
In future,
we can get satellite cinema through satellites by using dish antennas or other
devices. This is going to be the next up gradation of the digital movie making.
On that time no need for the picture or film boxes or separate prints for
various areas or countries. By using a single box (Hard disk), we can transmit
movies to all over the world in the same or different times.
So the Absolute
Digital Movie Making will lead us to the Satellite Cinema in the
near future.
